Question: What is the Selection Process of SSC CGL Exam in 2017?

Answer: Tier -I: Computer Based Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Tier -II: Computer Based Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

Tier -III: English Descriptive Test.

Tier -IV: Data Entry Skill Test 


Question: Will there be Interview in SSC CGL Exam 2017?

Answer: Interview will not be a part of the selection process from this Year onwards.


Question: Does SSC CGL exam have sectional cut­offs like in IBPS and RBI exams?

Answer: There is no Sectional cut Offs.


Question: I have 45% marks in graduation, can i fill this form ?

Answer: Central govt recruitment is based on merit system, for this they conduct written exam.

Less marks in graduation / 10th / 12th does not create any problem.

There are no such specific criteria, you can go ahead.


Question: Is Aadhar Card mandatory to fill SSC CGL 2017 Exam?

Answer: No it is not mandatory to possess Aadhar Card to register for SSC CGL 2017 Exam.


Question: About OBC creamy Layer

Answer: To claim OBC reservation benefit, you need two certificates  i.e. the caste certificate and the creamy layer certificate. It should be in the format provided by SSC.

Candidates claiming OBC status may note that certificate on creamy layer status should have been obtained according to the dates mentioned in the exam advt. This depends on the income/status of your PARENTS (this is clearly mentioned in page 10 of the official notification), means this doesn’t depend on your own job/business OR your husband’s job/business. If your mom/dad is government employee then INCOME criteria doesn’t apply. (e.g. if dad is class3 employee, then it doesn’t matter whether he gets 6 lakhs or 7 lakhs. You’re still noncreamy layer. If your parents have private business, then income criteria applies. (Max. 6 Lakh rupees annual income) In short, make sure you’ve these certificates, else make trip to Tehsildar’s office/Collector Office/Jan-Seva Kendra and get the proper certificates. Otherwise, SSC will reject you at the last stage, during document verification and your entire year will be wasted for nothing.


Question: I use -5D spectacles; will it create any problem in income tax inspector or any other post?

Answer: No, no problem at all. Your vision should be 6/6 using glasses.


Question: Which category of candidates is exempted from examination fees for exams?

Answer: SC/ST, physically handicapped, Ex-servicemen and women candidates are exempted from payment of fees.


Question:  Is it mandatory to appear for Paper 3 and Paper 4 in SSC CGL Exam, if I have applied for them?

Answer: No, It is optional.


Question:  If I fail or remain absent in Paper 3 and Paper 4 in SSC CGL Exam, will it affect my candidature?

Answer: Well, if you do not give or are unable to pass paper 3 or 4, ­III, then you will still be considered for all the other posts.


Question: How much time is sufficient to prepare for SSC CGL Exam?

Answer: 4-6 months are sufficient if you study regularly (6-8) hours a day.


Question: What to do when admission certificate for exam is not received?

Answer: If the candidates do not receive the admission certificate in time, they should access the notice Board of this website for information regarding issue of duplicate admission certificate.


Question: What to do when dates of interview/PET clash with another exam or interview?

Answer: No change is ordinarily permissible. However, if the interviews/PET are being held at the specified venue for more than one day, the request may be considered if made at least ten days in advance with supporting documents.


Question: What to do when a name and roll no. figures in the results but the category shown is not correct?

Answer: Such candidates are expected to inform the SSC immediately for re-determining their results in the actual category.


Question: How long does it take to nominate candidates after declaration of the final results of an examination?

Answer: It generally takes about 30-40 days to process the dossiers of successful candidates. Thereafter, the candidates are nominated to the respective departments/ministries to which they have been allocated. The concerned department/ministry issues the offer of appointment to the candidates within a few months, after completing the due formalities. Candidates can find out the address of the ministry/department to which they have been nominated from the notice board of this website.
